Born in 1975, Fred Grivois starts making movies when he is 11. Franco-Canadian, he grows up between Montreal and Paris. He attends the NYU film school, and then moves to France to become a producer. He begins directing in 2001 with broadcast design and title-sequences, soon followed by music videos and commercials.
For the "big screen", Jacques Audiard will be the first to give him a chance to create the title-sequence for The Beat that my Heart Skipped in 2005. Their collaboration continues on A Prophet and Rust and Bone where Grivois directs the title sequences, as well as several actual film scenes.
Simultaneously, Grivois develops skits and T.V. concepts with Thomas Bidegain and Noé Debré. Their partnership leads to the writing of Through the Air in 2009, Grivois’ first feature film.
